NovelSage is a web-based writing application designed to help authors organize, write, and manage their manuscripts. The Service includes features such as manuscript organization, character tracking, research management, and cloud storage.

Your writing belongs to you. You retain all ownership rights to any content you create using NovelSage. We claim no ownership or license to your manuscripts, characters, notes, or any other creative content.
We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice when possible.
NovelSage is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding any claim.
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
We collect only what's necessary to provide the Service:
We never sell your data. We never share your writing with third parties. We never use your content to train AI models. Your privacy is not a product.
Your manuscripts, characters, notes, and research are stored as discrete project data files associated solely with your user account. This content is not indexed, searchable, or accessible through any administrative interface. NovelSage does not maintain tools to browse, search, or access user content across accounts. Your creative content is accessible only through authenticated login to your individual account. NovelSage personnel do not access user content except as required for technical support at your explicit request, or as necessary to comply with legal obligations.
Your data is stored on secure servers. While we maintain server backups for disaster recovery, these backups are for operational purposes only and are not guaranteed. You are responsible for maintaining your own copies of your work. We provide multiple tools to help: local .novelsage file downloads, Dropbox sync (premium), and export to DOCX/PDF/TXT. We strongly recommend downloading a backup after every writing session.
You can export your entire project at any time using the Export feature. We support multiple formats including DOCX, PDF, and our native .novelsage format, which includes all your content, characters, and research.
You can delete individual projects at any time. When you delete your account, we permanently delete all associated data within 30 days. Some data may be retained in encrypted backups for up to 90 days.
If you connect cloud storage services (Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive), your data may be stored on their servers according to their privacy policies. We only access what's necessary to provide backup/sync functionality.

We reserve the right to limit or terminate accounts that abuse the Service, including but not limited to automated access, excessive resource consumption, or using the Service for purposes other than writing.
